Firebase を使用している Unity プロジェクトを
Unity 6 にアップデートして Android ビルドしたら
上記のエラーが発生してビルドに失敗する現象に遭遇した。
Assets/Plugins/Android/mainTemplate.gradle
上記のファイルを削除してから

Unity メニューの
「Assets > External Dependency Manager > Android Resolver > Force Resolve」を
実行して Android ビルドしたら正常にビルドできるようになった。
